She understands the many barriers preventing health equity, including poverty, discrimination, unequal pay, quality education, and safe environments. Dr. Avant (medical sociology) from the University of Missouri. Her research focused on health disparities, inequalities, and organizational behavior in the U.S. healthcare system. She also earned a Master of Business Administration (Lincoln University) and a Master of Healthcare Administration (Park University), in addition to a Master of Public Health (APUS-CEPH). Dr. Avant has more than 20 years of experience teaching and consulting in the areas of executive leadership, health care administration, social change and problems, social psychology, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and equal opportunity, social determinants of health, health disparities, and inequities, cultural competencies, in addition to curriculum development, strategic planning, policy development, and management.
Kathy Miller is a retired human resources analyst from the State of Missouri. She brings a wealth of experience in customer service, training, and human resources. Throughout her career, Kathy has collaborated with local, state, and government agencies, leaders, and organizations. Notably, she has actively engaged in volunteer opportunities, dedicating her time and energy to providing valuable programs, support, and activities that elevate the community. She has also played a pivotal role in training State of Missouri employees, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. Her dedication to enhancing the workforce is commendable and reflects her passion for empowering others.
Donna Stallings is a retired assistant professor of mathematics with over 20 years of successful experience in grant writing and teaching. She currently manages her own educational consulting company and serves in many community leadership positions. Donna enjoys and has a passion for STEM education and regularly attends and participates in regional and national training sessions to continue to hone her skills and showcase new STEM teaching trends.
